C&C Technology: Healthy and convenient aging in Poland

The scope of the project

Problem
Information Technology (IT) plays a major role in our lives, from our daily smartphone use to the cars that we are driving to the possibility of communicating with people at the other side of our planet. Besides these everyday usage of IT, we can also observe a ever increasing trend of its use in health care, among others in elderly care. We can also see in the entire Europe a growing tendency for elderly people to live longer on their own. This is partly made possible by clever use of different IT applications that help elderly people with a range of issues.
In The Netherlands the trend of living longer on one's own for elderly people is visible for a longer time already than in Poland. C&C Technology as well as its parent company and other partners from the Netherlands expect that this trend will become more strong in Poland too. That means that there may very well be a strong market development in this specific sector in the coming years. However, instead of pushing new IT applications for healthy and convenient aging on the Polish market, C&C Technology would rather start with the demands of the elderly people themselves and start from there with designing new products and IT applications.
And that is where you come in as participants of the project: You will help C&C Technology with your knowledge and creative ideas to help them with the process of "design thinking", in order to develop a good fit between market demand and the products and services they can offer.


Goals
The aim of the project is to analyse the potential demand for IT applications and services for elderly people in the Polish market.

Tasks

Task 1
Analysis of the current trends and market in The Netherlands and Poland.
1.1 Analysis of the current trends in elderly care in The Netherlands in relation to IT services and "living longer at home"
1.2 Identification of trends, developments, opportunities and threats of this market in Poland
1.4 Determination the macroeconomic factors determining chances, barriers of market entrance in Poland such as:
- regulation barriers,
- social acceptance,
- level of market development,

Task 2
Market research to determine potential suppliers of products, sales and distribution channels for C&C Technology according to the criteria:
2.1 The uniqueness, novelty in technical solutions in terms of functionality
2.2 The presence of the company on the market in Poland
2.3 The best ways how to reach the targeted customer group.


Expected results
Delivering a concise report (ca 6 pages A4) covering task 1 and task 2. An oral presentation of the findings for the C&C Technology Company.

In the report, you must provide data on the tasks 1 and 2 as written above. You can use the subdivision of tasks as subdivision of the different chapters if you like, but this is not compulsory.
